Packing Checklist for a Safari Holiday
If you have chosen to head off on safari for your next holiday this may be a holiday type that you have never experienced before, so you may be wondering what you should take to ensure that you are well prepared and have a great time.
Here is our packing checklist for a safari holiday which we believe includes everything that you will need:
Comfortable clothes – Loose fitting and lightweight clothes are perfect for going on safari as the most important thing is that you are comfortable in what you are wearing. These should be worn in layers as you will be spending the majority of your time outside and should be ready for whatever the weather brings. Ensure that you have worn in your shoes beforehand too so you know that they won’t rub or irritate you during your trip.
First aid kit – Although it is likely that there will be first aid kits to hand wherever you are staying during your safari holiday, it is always best to have your own supplies just in case. This should include painkillers, plasters, antihistamines, and any prescription medicines that you take. You should also make sure that you have checked if you need to have any vaccinations well in advance of your travel date as some vaccines can take a while to become effective.
Added extras – You certainly don’t want to forget your camera for this holiday of a lifetime, and remember to pack spare camera batteries and memory cards too so you are not caught out mid-safari. You may also want to take a travel diary or journal so you can jot down all that you see, and a torch which is bound to be useful for getting around your campsite at night, and for seeing when you are inside your tent too!
A safari is a truly fantastic experience, and by following this packing checklist for a safari holiday before you travel you can be sure that you will have everything that you require and can just focus on enjoying your trip.
