For Tour Operators, Travel Agents and Travel portals
Background Information
BP Travel Marketing Services developed BrochureBank, the first on-line brochure ordering service for consumers, in January 1998. The concept was derived from BP's innovative Viewdata based, bulk brochure-ordering service developed for travel agents in 1992.
Consumers are able to "access" the BP database and search for brochures either by specific tour operator, destination or holiday type. From the results they select up to seven brochures (by providing brochures that meet their specific requirements we are cutting down on brochure wastage) and have them sent directly to their home address or other.
The customer gets a brochure that meets their needs without having to trek round high street travel agents and the tour operators get their brochure into the hands of someone who is highly likely to make a purchase. (Over 72% of BrochureBank users end up making a booking from one of the brochures ordered and, on average, only order three brochures at a time).
All brochure requests are fulfilled by BP's dedicated BrochureBank operation at Rushden in Northants. All brochures available via the service are held in stock and orders are fulfilled the next working day and sent out by 2nd class post.
The tour operator only pays for the fulfilment of each request plus the postage. No requests, no charge. You only pay for what you get.
Consumers can also sign up to receive a regular email newsletter - "Holiday & Leisure e-News". Tour operators, travel agents and travel companies can use this highly effective vehicle to promote their special offers and late availability in a simple and no nonsense fashion every month.
